Wisdom of your life

As I sit here in front of my Tipi, a soft breeze whispers its way across my face.

My family of long ago are letting me know that they are there watching over me.

I watch the sun setting, and I listen.

In the far distance I can here the cry of the wolf.

I listen to the thunder of the buffalo hooves,

The echoes of my ancestors...

I here the rustle of insects making their way through the long grass, the rustle enveloping me.

I look up at the sky and lift my arms and think of my ancestors

They have not gone. They are here all around me.

The soft breeze across my face, The whisper in my ear,

A memory of long ago. My childhood memories...

They come in my dreams, my forefathers, My family of times gone by.

They give me wisdom, to carry me through my life.

Wisdom to pass on to my family: My family to pass on to their family...

Listen to your dreams, it is your family of long ago, helping you through life.

Sometimes it's hard for you, but to gain wisdom, we have to have pain.

You can have all the wisdom, but unless you have earned that wisdom, it means nothing.

Look inside yourself, and ask, "What have I gained in my life, what knowledge and wisdom?

What can I pass to my children? "You can pass on the wisdom of your life,"

I am tired now, my years too long on this land I call home,

I will go to my forefathers soon, My Journey is nearly over,

But I will leave behind knowledge and wisdom of my life,

Hear me, do not forget me, that soft breeze, the whisper...
