The History of The Odyssey Centre

Odyssey means a Journey. the rainbow was the symbol of Odyssey. The Friends of Odyssey met not by chance, we were brought together by a higher force for a special purpose.

The Odyssey Centre was a very special place for many people who came through the door, whether they lived in Burnham-on-Sea or just visiting while on holiday. And it was quite common for these holiday makers to return year after year. In fact only this week I have been told by the new owner that customers are still coming into the shop asking for me 4 years on!! What an impact we made.

The friends are made up from all age groups from the young collecting their Crystals for the very first time to the elderly. Many cups of tea were shared and it was a meeting place for different souls sharing their experiences. The coming together of multi denominational religions. I have many memories of these special times shared.

As the founder/owner of the Odyssey Centre one of the most rewarding experiences was to introduce strangers that would very quickly find through chatting that they shared a lot in common. It was difficult to start initially, a venture like this in Burnham -on-Sea was met with a lot of negativity through ignorance but it did not deter me from my goal.

When Odyssey closed in 2001 it was described to me as leaving a huge void in Burnham and a friend of mine said when she went there to find the shop closed she felt like there was a huge hole in the path outside.

I would like to feel from my contribution to the Odyssey Centre that new groups have started up and are successfully flourishing In Burnham-on-Sea and I wish them well.

No amount of money could have bought me the experiences I shared, the amazing Miracles I witnessed, the lessons I learnt, the customers I became a confidant to, the very special friends I made who became my spiritual family, and not forgetting the bringing together of my dearest friend and much loved soulmate and Husband Stefan Antal.

Burnham-on-sea is my spiritual home, where I have formed the closest bonds with my very dear friends who have given me support since Odyssey closed it's doors for the last time. There is nothing I like better than visiting Burnham-on-sea and my soul group
